Pacific Frag

For a long time now, new types and models of video art have been developed on the Internet. Some kinds of video art have enjoyed a revival through the Internet. Through intense research, I learned a great deal about the cheap, functional and effective production of video models. In addition I discovered a complex system of metalinguistical relations between the different types of video art (fake, machinima, frag, mockumentary, etc).

Pacific Frag is a lost link between machinima and frag, a mixture of the aesthetics derived from metalinguistical tactics and appropriationism. The lack of a linear story prevents the video from being considered a machinima, connecting it to an unknown branch of frag. In this case, the video production lacks two of its principal props: violence and technical ostentation.

En Internet, desde hace un tiempo vienen desarrollándose nuevos géneros y modelos de vídeo. También otros disfrutan de una segunda juventud.

Después de un intenso proceso de investigación, aprendí mucho sobre modelos de producción visual barata, funcional y efectiva. Además descubrí un complejo entramado de relaciones metalingüísticas entre los diferentes géneros (fake, machinima, frag, mockumentary, etc).

Pacific Frag es un eslabón perdido, una mezcla de la estética derivada de una táctica metalingüística y apropiacionismo. La falta de narración lineal, exime al vídeo de ser considerado un machinima. Entroncado entonces en una rama desconocida de frag. Donde la producción del vídeo se hace sin dos de sus principales pilares: la violencia y alarde técnico.
